Reply All - It's the fault of the sender

Or maybe not.  But here's my experience.

A fellow colleague noted that when she "reply all" to one of my emails, her email address would always appear along with everyone else in the group.   This would only happen to emails from me.

Turns out that i was using auto complete, and my version of her email address didn't match the server.  To fix this problem I had to delete all my auto complete emails and also for good measure deleted and downloaded a fresh copy of her contact details from the global directory.

Problem solved.

Problem: Reply to All includes myself
Solution: Yell at the sender.

Q: Why am I posting this here?  A Blog about food and useless stuff? 
A: Because I don't want to sign up to another bloody forum.

I have a panna-cement/brownie mix to use up.

If I reheat it I reckon it will go soft and spread sightly. But would it reset? What about the flavours?

Don't know until I try.  Anyway, it's better than the rumball idea that was rolling about on my noggin...

Pannacotta perfection

I had great fears last night. 
I have made 2 batches of pannacotta previously.  First batch wasn't sweet enough and was well, more cement then cotta.  Fail #1
So I tried again, this time with a yogurt based reciepe.  This was nicer with a light tang.  but the yoghurt seperated and i had a clear layer at the bottom of each cup.  Fail #2
Needless to say Its been an expensive and hip threatening excursion,  but like all cooking freaks one persists.

Trial 3.  a mix of thickened cream, light milk and marscapone cheese.  But I hadn't followed instructions, and the sequence was stuffed. (To my defense i was also baking brownies and biscotti all at the same time!)
They went in the fridge, 2 hrs later, they were still soft! Even threatening to run when tilted!


I was already thinking about batch 4, as I laid my head to sleep, but like the saying "things are better in the morning" they had set overnight!

I emailed the office, informing them of the baked treats in the kitchen...  This is a funny email trail betwen two of the boys.

N:  Save some for me!
C:  I will eat them all because I don't want Nxxx to have them.
N:  I will cry myself to sleep every night knowing you did this
C:  Poor thing! but I am doing it anyway.


Thick or thin, it is beautiful.

It's not as hard as I thought it would be!

The trial turned out quite well, o had two logs that I cut into thin and thick versions.  I took the thick ones to work, and I plan on keeping the thins for the table.
But despite the many reminders throughout the day, subconciously I picked up more ingredients.

Like I need an excuse :p

Savoury steamed egg

This is on the menu for dinner tomorrow! 100%!!!!

Savory Steamed Egg Custard

POST:  Dad has been up and I have further egg dish education.

Water: only add 1/3 ratio.  But I like my eggs runny so I'd go 1/2 ratio.
Eggs cook from the sides so lift the lid and stir the cook stuff into the middle.  Encourages even cooking.
Meat - add it in fully cooked, or on top as per the recipe attached.

i am drunk

i tell you that now.  so my ramblings here do not count.  but i guess they do because hey they are my true thoughts.
hrm good to see that half a bottle of wine does not affect my spelling capacity.  i always thought i was a polite drunk, but i now conclude that, whats 750ml divided by 2?

375mls of red wine in 30seconds belays that assumption.

i think belay is the right word.

oh and before i forget "elbow" in chinese is sau jang.  which doesn't make sense to me because when you jang you are fighting over something. and that should be done with your hands.  not your elbows!! how do you grasp stuff with your elbows.  its is inefficient.
