The Harbour on a Beautiful Day

Sometime Sydney Harbour can be breathtaking. After a lovely day on the Manly waterfront with good food and friends.

An amusing read about a drunk woman who shoplifts a parrot... why a parrot? at $1500, its about the same price as a Christian Dior handbag.

(Lulu and Kathleen will disagree here... no amount of money will make them steal a live bird)

However the punchlines the solicitor threw were quoted throughout the article.

"describing the crime as "at the lower end of the pecking order".

there's no suggestion that birds of a feather flock together," he said.

"My client understands she has ruffled some feathers and she has paid the price for that.

"The flock of media that are here is great credit to the society's interest in this matter."

"Asujamaa and her family had been publicly shamed but to her credit she had not "attempted to fly away".

"But they (Jessica and Matt) weren't acting as cockatoos."

Look a court case and a show...

Or another lawyer that really should go into show business...

2 Words

There are 2 words that strike fear into the hearts of all City Rail commuters...
"Attention Passengers"
The announcement was as follows:

Attention passengers! Due to a police operation at Redfern Station, this train will be delayed...

Definitely not what we were looking forward to just coming home from Symphony in the Domain.

At this point we were about 50m out from the platform, and the train wasn't going anywhere soon!

To their credit, for a change were were informed about 10 - 15 minutes later;

Due to the ongoing police operation at Redfern Station, the train will be delayed, and there is no scheduled departure time.

Groans rang out throughout the carriage after this announcement.

We heard this 2nd announcement a few more times, then suddenly, even though jerkilly, we edged forward, then stopped. As it happened, we had moved far enough ahead, to get the drivers compartment to be on the platform so we could leave the train. A big thanks for this as I wasn't looking foward to spending the night on the train, which was highly likely at that stage!

Edmund kindly picked us up from Central. We drove past Redfern on the way home, and there was a police operation underway, with the Redfern railway station area under lock down with armored vehicles etc...

When we got home, we couldn't find any news items, but when I woke up this morning...

Walk in to Aldi looking for an avocado for some sandwiches for tonight's Symphony in the Domain, and walk out with a box of mangos for $14 bucks!!!
Steph looked a bit confused when I walked up to him with the tray, of juicy tropical goodness
"Those don't look like avocados"

Kath: They're in the freezer chilling for tonight *drool*

Innocence is bliss

On the weekend, I was flown down to Adelaide to set my parents new computer up, and one of the things I did, was to configure Messenger for my mother.

I kindly set her 'Personal Message' for her...

Only in Hurstville?

Last night after dinner with Lu & the crew, Vi found this kind little note posted under someone's windscreen wiper...

I suppose we should give the guy some credit for asking the question... Maybe he'd have better luck with RSVP?

As far as we could see, this was the only car in the street with this note...
