It couldn't be true

Scanning the news websites this morning, I found this gem on the Daily Telegraph Site this morning

Caption reads:
SYDNEY'S trains have become so slow under CityRail's 2006 timetable it's faster to travel on foot. Veteran marathon runner Steve Moneghetti exposed the farce by outrunning a train over four inner-west stations.
Full story
Sadly enough, this is so very true, Sydneys trains are dead dog slow...

The birth of a Monster

A Few weeks ago we celebrated Stephs birthday and Last Weekend we finally collected his REAL birthday present - A brand new four burner BBQ.

Supplied in 3 huge boxes which managed to fit in the car in a somewhat dubious manner, we piled in along with 2 large palms and 2 birds of Paradises. I also managed to turn my ankle (again) just as we were about the move the bbq out of the car! Thankfully help was around the corner and Nige was able to pause his WOWing to come over and help Steph while I limped around.

The construction took about a day, the afternoon on saturday and sunday morning. Pics below.

Grill, base, legs, wheels then cabinet doors! How hard can it get?

The finished Product

A bit of amusement - The sticker Reads
"Ask About Our New Gas Saftey
Snap Lock SP-7 Available Here"

And it had its first christening that very night...YUM!

Steph cooking Sausages and Pork Chops, Eva made potatos and sweet potato foil buckets to sit in the rack...

And to top it off we had a casual weekend bbq with Team Lentil and Team Burton :)
And tonight we had bbq pork ribs. Ive never eaten so much meat in my life! So tommorrow night im cooking! :) phew!

I'm going to be a Grandma!

Ole! Ole! Ole! Ausieee! Ausieee!

I have to say I am very proud of the Socceroos! They faced aversity , derision, dismissal and they held their heads up high and wrote their own section of History in Australian Soccer.

Steph and I went to bed and woke up early to watch the game. The emotions, its such a passionate game! The screams the wail of despair, the disgust. Australians Phyiscal? BAH! Those Croats are just as shocking! So passionate about the game I considered Australia should ban all immigrants from Croatia, but then we equalised, and I love again! Then the shambles of the last 10 mins... My god! What happened? 3 yellow cards?!? The rugby tackle? The handballs? (PLURAL)

On this note i would like to point out that AFL and Rugby would have a fit and scream and shout at the referees, slandering them after TV programs and post game discussions. But the soccer coachs remain civil. I wonder if thats what makes the game so passionate, The role of fate and luck as a bigger sway in the game.

After the game I went to work and stopped by George Street to savor the celebrating crowd. It was amazing!!! The George Park Street interesction was overun with people cheering and chanting.
As soon as red man took the streets back the people happliy dispersed to each corner and shouted Ole! Ole! Ole! Ausieee! Ausieee! or another chant! The Green and Gold decorated everyone, and the cars and trucks joined in beeping joyously, passengers cheering. Anything in yellow or green was roared at! The sight of an Aussie flag or the socceroo emblem was cheered at too!!

It was amazing game and its great to see Aussie backing the beautiful game and the Socceroos

Stupid support question for the day...

I tried very hard not to laugh whilst I had this guy on the phone...

Job details:
Query about Notes out of office and why he was getting a number of bounce messages to SPAM he'd received.

Advised that this was an automatic process, and that Notes will reply to anything that hits the mailbox, SPAM included.
I just love support... Really!

Just wondering...

Why when you turn upto work in a suit and tie that people instantly think your looking for work?

We did it!!!

We won! Our first game of Football in the glorious World Cup and we beat the pansies!

Oh My! Football is the true game of emotions... The feeling of despair as we finished the first half! The hate as Schwarzer was pushed out of the way. The disgust as that bunch of Japanese pansies fells over and begged for mummy to kiss their knee better. Then the elation! 3 goals one after the other in the last 8 minutes! Cahill had a beauty land at his feet! Then a beautiful goal again from Cahill, and Aloisi's sweet, sweet goal for 3rd.

We ruled the game. Bring on Brazil! We've had our Weetbixs!

The Steamboat Party

Its our annual event! and somehow magically We were able to fit 25 people into the house for dinner! Wow!

Steamboat is a communal feasting mechaism where everyone gathers around a pot of steaming/boiling broth and around that pot is an array of goodies. Everyone throws goodies in and everyone scoops goodies out, pops them in their dipping bowls and chows down. You can be territorial and use your scoops to cook and keep, or my preferred way is to cook one for your mate and a few for yourself, and everyone digs in.

Here are some photos of the feast:

The New Fridge...

Those who are coming to steamboat... who said they were worried about food? HA! Baby you are going to go home stuffed to the gills! :) Today Steph and I took Ian (Stephs dad) out to Flemington Markets... You can hear over the crowd actions, "WON DOLLA WON DOLLA! and when you find the source of the racket you find a little filipino woman trying to sell her avacados...

We've been many a times but this trip we did notice that the market was a lot quieter! Oh dear! I hope its just the holiday season and the weather hampering Sydneysiders... Please let it not be the petrol prices... Its a past time and an iconic event that should never stop.
